Advansor CO2 Booster Refrigeration System Start-Up (Webinar)

  • Webinar United States (map)

Hosted by SCE and presented by Rusty Walker & Paul Binette with Hillphoenix

This Hillphoenix Learning Center course is designed to help the participants understand the CO2 Booster System start-up. This training will begin with reviewing the piping and wiring diagrams to ensure that the technician understands the basic CO2 Booster System. We will then review the necessary steps needed to ensure the system is ready for start-up.

Those steps are:

1.      Visually inspect the pressure relief valves to ensure proper installation & correct pressure rating.

2.      Pressure test the system to ensure the pressure relief valves hold according to spec.

3.      Pressure test store piping and refrigeration cases.

4.      Discuss the need and process to triple evacuate both the rack and cases.

5.      Adding POE oil to the compressor in between the second and third vacuum.

6.      Set case controller Modbus or Lon address and bard rate, ensure all cases are online and communicating  with the rack controller.

7.      Discuss the proper triple evacuation procedures.

8.      Check & verify that all case temperature probes, and pressure transducers have been wired properly to the case controller(s).

Once all pre-start-up items has been completed, we will discuss how to charge and start-up the refrigeration rack by adding liquid CO2 into the flash tank at the rack ONLY without sending any CO2 to the cases. We will discuss the proper operation of the high-pressure control valve, the flash gas bypass valve, and the compressors. We will then check the operation of the condenser/gas cooler fans. After starting up the rack, we will discuss how to start adding our refrigeration case loads, one case at a time.
